A really nice bar of chocolate

I was getting a tea at Portola Coffee Lab recently. They sometime have very high quality chocolate bars as checkout.  This one jumped out at me! “SOY FREE, DAIRY FREE, NON GMO!  Chocolate with almonds and smoked sea salt, … Continue reading

Gluten Free Birthday Brownies

2015/03/img_1716-1.jpg

Since the Trader Joes gluten free brownies now contain soy, I decided to try a recipe I sound on line:

I didn’t have the sorghum flour, so I used some coconut flour instead. It may not have been the right thing, but it seems alright.

I used powdered coco and I think I should have used a bit more coconut oil for a better consistency. They turned out a little crumbly, so I pi

Trader Joe’s Blew It This Time – Gluten Free Brownie Mix Has Soy In It Now!

2015/02/img_0304.jpg

I used to really enjoy these brownies. They used to be free of the top allergens, including soy. They have repackaged their Gluten Free brownie mix and in the newly packaged version, there is soy lecithin in the ingredients. Fortunately the packaging is totally different, in a box, not a brown bag, so you will notice a difference.

So if this has been on your go-to treat list, take it off!

If you come across any in the old packaging, scoop them up! I’ve checked two of my local stores and both only had the new, in-improved version.

Organic Tapioca pudding!

2015/02/img_0541-2.jpg

While I was at Costco yesterday they were sampling this organic tapioca pudding. 7 organic ingredients. If you like tapioca pudding, this stuff is lovely. They use soy ink to print the packaging and I am, okay with that. 🙂

Ingredients: milk, evaporated cane sugar, whole eggs, tapioca, cornstarch, vanilla extract (water, ethyl alcohol, vanilla bean extractives), salt.

Happy, healthy eating!
